工藝特點(diǎn)（1）反應(yīng)性好，脫硫效率高濕法脫硫的反應(yīng)強(qiáng)度取決于脫硫劑堿金屬離子的溶解堿性。由于鎂離子的溶解堿性比鈣離子高數(shù)百倍，因而鎂基脫硫劑具有比鈣基脫硫劑高數(shù)十倍的脫硫反應(yīng)能力。工業(yè)實(shí)踐證明，鎂基脫硫劑能比鈣基脫硫劑更高的脫硫效率，可達(dá)99%以上，同時(shí)采用鎂基脫硫所要求的噴淋水量僅相當(dāng)于達(dá)到同樣脫硫效率的鈣基脫硫的1/3，耗電量也大為降低。

由于反應(yīng)強(qiáng)度高，鎂基噴淋反應(yīng)吸收塔的高度只有鈣基脫硫的2/3左右，因此，鎂基脫硫的主體設(shè)備的造價(jià)要明顯低于鈣基吸收塔。同時(shí)，由于氧化鎂的分子量（40）是氧化鈣（56）的73%，是碳酸鈣（石灰石，分子量為100）的40%，因此，去除等量的二氧化硫所需的氧化鎂要比鈣基少得多，而且MgO又以粉狀供貨，脫硫劑供給系統(tǒng)也比鈣基脫硫大大簡化，降低了系統(tǒng)的造價(jià)。比較表明，氧化鎂脫硫設(shè)備的造價(jià)一般可比石灰石/石膏法低10～15%左右。
